Treatment approaches

Acupuncture and Tuina, clearly explained.

Individual care informed by traditional Chinese medicine and an understanding of Western medical practice.

01 · Acupuncture

Fine needles, selected with care.

Acupuncture involves placing fine needles at selected points on the body. Single-use, sterile acupuncture needles are used and disposed of after treatment. The proposed points, positioning and process are explained before treatment begins.

Some people notice a brief pinprick, dull ache, warmth, heaviness or tingling. Experiences differ, and you should say if anything feels uncomfortable. Consent continues throughout the appointment: you can ask questions, pause or stop at any time.

Acupuncture is offered as a complementary approach. It should not delay medical assessment, prescribed treatment or necessary care.

02 · Tuina

A hands-on Chinese medicine tradition.

Tuina is a hands-on approach associated with traditional Chinese medicine. It can include pressure, rhythmic movement and mobilisation techniques through clothing or with appropriate draping.

It is not automatically part of every appointment. Where considered, Zak explains why it may fit the agreed approach and checks that you are comfortable to proceed.
